If you are a web developer like me, you sure have to deal with testing your web app on different browsers and different versions of the same browser as well, so how to do that?
Ok, the dominant browsers are Mozilla Firefox (my favorite) and Internet Explorer, let's talk about Firefox and how to install different verions of it on the same pc. portableapps.com offers a portable version of Firefox, it offers multiple versions of Firefox portable (3.0.3, 184.108.40.206, 220.127.116.11 and 1.0.8). Unlike installing the desktop versions of Firefox which creates entries on the Windows Registry and different versions could have conflict entries, installing the portable versions doesn't create registry entries and it just creates files and directories, so installing different versions is possible and is very easy and straight forward, so if you are web developer developing web apps for the Mozilla Firefox go ahead and install the Firefox portable versions here.
Installing multiple versions of IE is not as easy and straight forward and it involves the use of virtualization, I will blog about that in the next posts.
